VOLUNTEER - FAQ

If I choose to Volunteer What is My Commitment?

As a volunteer you can work in an area such as Arts in Education, Exhibits, Stage Assistant, etc., for a minimum of four hours, ranging from 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., 10:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. – 7:00p.m. on the day of the event. You can request a preference for time and assignment when you sign-up on line. Assignments and scheduling will be announced at the Volunteer Orientation meetings.

What do I Get for Volunteering?

Besides giving back to the community, all pre-registered volunteers receive a complimentary 2011 Festival Volunteer T-shirt, free parking and admission to the event – good for the entire day! Volunteers are also eligible to receive "Community Service" credit for this event and will be provided with a certificate of acknowledgement on the day of the event.

How do I get Trained?

There will be a mandatory volunteer orientation, before the day of the event, to provide you with information on your assignment. At this meeting you will be able to meet the committee chairpersons, members of the FDLF Board of Directors, and have any additional questions answered. All volunteers are required to attend one of the volunteer orientations. Any changes to the above orientation dates, times and location will be posted by on this website by March 16, 2011 so you can make arrangements to attend the orientation which is most convenient for you. So check back. We will also send email reminders.

Who do I Contact if I want to help on a Committee?

For additional information or questions how you can help on one of the many committees, please e-mail the FDLF Steering Committee Chairperson. Include your name, phone number where you can be reached and the committee you are interested in. We will return your call.
