ART PAVILION
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The 2011 Arts & Culture Pavilion celebrates the historical achievements and artistic movements of the Latin Americas. With the help of artists and organizations, the community participants will be treated to a dynamic visual experience. The Arts & Culture Pavilion brings to life ancient civilizations: celebrates cultural movements; highlights contemporary artist, and presents the literary arts to Sacramento.
KEY ASPECTS of the 20th Annual Festival de la Familia Arts and Culture Pavilion:
The Latin Art Walk will guide the community through iconic historical events and cultural achievements of the Latin Americas. Custom art installations will represent a myriad of Latin civilizations and fine art exhibits showcase historical art movements.
Lead Installation Artist: Felipe Davalos will direct the community of artist to create a artistic renditions of ancient civilizations. Davalos is an expert in Pre- Columbian visual communication and civilizations. His experience comes from extensive research for Princeton, Yale, and a long history as a National Geographic researcher.
The Contemporary Art Show focuses on highlighting Latino Artists in the greater Sacramento region. The show will have works that span a range of artistic mediums. Selected artist focus in many mediums include: Oils, Acrylic, Mixed Media, Sculpture, Photography and New Media.
The Literary Arts Performance brings the regions finest writers and poets to the stage for two shows. Sacramento Poet Laureate, Bob Stanley will lead the way with:
